The SDS Weapon Retention Course is designed for the armed individuals who carry a concealed or an open carry handgun. This course will educate and train the student on the “what if” someone grabs your side arm. Most holsters has little or no retention, don’t bet your life on that little plastic release button or leather strap to stop someone from disarming you.
This 4 hour course will cover several methods of handgun retention and what to do in the event someone attempts to disarm you. This course is close quarters combat training, no PowerPoints, no chair time, just hands on training the entire 4 hours. If you carry a handgun and have not had weapon retention training, your training is incomplete and you are putting yourself and others at risk.

Students will need to bring the following to class
• Carry holster (primary or strong side recommended)
• Magazine or speed loader holder
• Handgun typically carried with spare magazine or speed loader
• Dummy or snap caps for your handgun
• Gloves (optional)
• Shoulder holster not recommended
Course cost will be $75 for members and $85 for non members
