LRGI have restarted our Church and Civilian Defense Training, we will train every Monday evening, 6pm-8pm.
A new course starts Monday 18 NOVEMBER 2024 then every Monday through 6 JANUARY 2025. This is an 8 week course.

Cameron is certified as a Personal Protection Specialist and licensed as an Executive Protection Agent, Cameron provides firearm and self-defense training to civilians, private sector business, churches and law enforcement. Cameron has 30 years of education and experience in providing close personal protection for local CEO’s, Fortune 100 executives, at-risk individuals and ministers. As a Qualifying Agent and Certified Trainer II for the State Alabama Regulatory Security Board Cameron can educate and train your security team or staff to a state recognized standard in unarmed and armed church security.
The 8 week syllabus covers;
This course is an advanced level handgun course. Student must meet one of the following prerequisites
All students are required to attend the first training session. This first session will cover several safety requirements, while in the classroom and on the range and student expectations over the 8-week program. This course involves several moving and shooting drills and scenarios, safe weapon handling and proficiency are a must.
Gear and Equipment Requirements:
Weapon: Handgun of any caliber (No AR-15 or AK-47 or like pistols are permitted)
Extra Magazines or Speed Loaders required
Magazine holster or pouch required
Sights: Standard and Optics, No scopes
Round Count: Minimum of 100 rounds, (no aluminum case rounds)
Holsters Requirements: Strong Side Carry Rig, No Cross-draw, No Small of the Back, No shoulder rigs, No collapsible Inside The Waist Band. NO BLACKHAWK SERPA Trigger finger release button or similar. Belt Clip Holster Must Meet The Instructors Standard of Belt Retention.
Belt Requirement: Yes, All Belts Must Be looped Through Pants, or Be a Duty Belt.
Shoes: No sandals or Crocs

GOOD NEWS, USPSA attendance is once again becoming very popular. Due to timing of running the events and in the interest of safety, the number of particpants will be limited to 18. To secure a space, please sign up on Practiscore or the LRGI website. If you do not sign up, you cannot be guaranteed to get a space by walking in in as we cannot add shooters above the 18 limit. This course is a Parent+Child course and will involve a classroom session on Safety, Awareness and Shooting Basics followed by a coached shooting session using .22 Rifles.

Description This is an entry level one pistol course. You will be given instruction on gun safety, firearm and ammunition function, proper shooting stance, grip, sight picture, trigger squeeze .
Course Goal To provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a pistol safely.
You will need to bring your pistol to the class, unloaded please. (You do not need to own a pistol to participate in the class. We will provide a pistol if you have not bought one yet). No ammo is allowed in the classroom, so please leave it outside of the classroom until live fire begins. Please bring 50-100 rounds of ammo. Ammo will be available for purchase at the range before the class begins.
Extra Mags/Speed Loaders : Yes needed
Belt or concealed holster plus extra magazine holder or pouch: Yes needed .
You must be able to draw safely without risk to others. Cross Draw, Behind The Back or Shoulder holsters are not permitted.

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER'S COURSE. TO BENEFIT FROM THIS COURSE YOU SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH YOUR FIREARM AND IT'S BASIC USE. YOU MUST HAVE A HOLSTER FOR YOUR GUN AS THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR DRAWING FROM THE HOLSTER TO HELP YOU BECOME MORE PROFICIENT WITH THE CONCEALED CARRY OF YOUR FIREARM.
LADIES NIGHT ON THE RANGE

Ladies only in the range bay. Limit 12 Ladies for the evening. Rental Guns available or you can bring your own. Free Targets. Free snacks and sodas will be in the classroom where the Range Safety Officer will briefly go over safety rules for the range before going out to shoot.
The Ladies only event is aimed at encouraging ladies who are non-shooters or only very occasional shooters to come and try shooting on the range. We will always have a Range Safety Officer on the range and experienced staff members will be available to provide assistance as needed.

Rental handguns will be available for $10.00 or you may bring your own handgun if you wish.

This is a basic pistol instruction course designed to introduce students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This course is designed for the new shooter, or for someone who wants to brush up on the basics. Through this course, students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and how to select the right pistol for you. Students will need ear protection, safety glasses, and ammunition.
