This is a basic pistol instruction course designed to introduce students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This course is designed for the new shooter, or for someone who wants to brush up on the basics. Through this course, students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety and cleaning, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. Students will need to bring ear protection, safety glasses, and 50 rounds of .22LR ammunition. .22LR pistols will be provided for student use, and students may bring their own pistols as well.
The course will be conducted over two evenings. Students must attend both evenings in order to complete the course and obtain a certificate of completion. The first evening will cover the classroom instruction, and the second evening will be conducted in the classroom and the range for the shooting portion of the course.
You may bring your pistol to the class both evenings, provided they are are unloaded. No ammo is allowed in the classroom, so please wait until the second evening to bring ammo and it will be stored outside of the classroom until live fire begins.
